After a vacuum that detects spills, adapts as it cleans, avoids obstacles – and even mops after it’s finished? Here’s what Editor Claire thought of the Mova P50 Pro Ultra Robot Vacuum.
Remember when vacuums were heavy, awkward appliances that never quite reached the spot you needed to without unplugging and plugging in a nearer socket? Perhaps I’m just showing my age. Things of course have evolved in leaps and bounds, from battery-operated, cordless devices that could easily be whipped around, to the ever-growing trend of robotic models. My husband and I bought a different branded model a couple of years ago – who we named Quentin; I can’t recall why – which we were happy enough with at the start, due to the fact we simply asked it to start hoovering and off it went.
But there were always a few issues we found frustrating. We’ve two British Blue Shorthairs whose dander embedded itself into our carpet’s fibres that it couldn’t seem to suction out, probably due to its 2000Pa suction – that’s the amount of negative pressure or ‘pulling force’ the vacuum’s motor generates to lift dirt and debris off the floor. It also didn’t seem to have a long lifespan before it needed to recharge. But we were happy enough to have it plod (OK, vacuum), until I was offered the chance to review the MOVA P50 Pro Ultra Robot Vacuum. And poor old Quentin hasn’t stood a chance ever since.

Over to Mova, AKA Milly, named after my grandmother-in-law’s dog, Milly (we’ll go on to the ‘Mop’ part of her name later on – although I’m sure you can guess why). My husband, AKA the smart tech addict, spent far too long watching online videos, and reading reviews of its performance to me as I tried to get to sleep at night. Followed by him sending a WhatsApp every day to see if it had been delivered. We’d plans to see friends the evening of the day it did arrive – and, of course we were late, as he had to unbox it and get it all ready for its premier performance.
So, why such enthusiasm? Whereas our other older brand of vacuum has 2000Pa suction, the Mova P50 Pro Ultra has an impressive 19,000Pa. Hand on heart, our cats’ discarded dander disappeared in one movement – no need for repetition whatsoever.

But what else makes the Mova stand out from the robotic vacuum crowd? It adapts as it cleans. An RGB camera with intelligent dirt detection adjusts performance in real time. Its high visibility LED light ensures it cleans just as well in the day as it does during the night or in dim light – which we tried, and confirm this is very much the case. Teenagers who dump everything as soon as they enter the front door like ours? It avoids shoes, coats ,and school bags, with its smart navigation mapping rooms, planning efficient routes, and handling complex layouts with ease.
Hate the fact that crumbs and debris get in heard to reach places (that’ll be the teenagers once again)? It deep cleans right-angle edges and low crevices with its FlexRech™ tech, with its extendable side brush manoeuvring around table and chair legs without you having to tidy up.

Pets? It’s there to help clean after they’ve dropped their biscuits everywhere – and, in our case, pick up cat litter after our two have decided more litter needs to be out of their tray than in. There are also ‘no go’ zones for pets you can input, such as their actual food bowl, favourite toy or bedding. And, when it’s done its vacuuming job, you don’t have to worry about hair stuck in rollers, as it does the hard work for you, thanks to an anti-tangle CleanChop™ brush and side brush so you won’t have to deal with it yourself. Its auto-empty dock also lasts up to 75 days, self-emptying dust into the 3.2L dust bag, saving you the effort of emptying yourself.

But of course, that’s not all: Milly ‘Mop’ also has a mop built within. With its nimble back swinging and extendable mop, the Mova P50 Pro Ultra easily scrubs messes under cabinets and consoles, reaching deep into low gaps up to 4cm, while its CleanLift™ raises mop pads over carpets to keep them dry. There’s 32 settings to fine-tune the mopping based on floor type and conditions, and, when it’s finished, it takes itself back to its station for 75°C mop pad sanitization, washing the pads with water and solution – that refills for you. It’s even got hot air drying to keep them fresh and ready for your (well, its) next clean.
All it takes is a word from your Apple Watch and other devices to schedule cleanups and track its progress, with straightforward voice commands and intuitive voice assistants. And did I mention it’s also aesthetically pleasing to look at, thanks to its design that seamlessly integrates into your living room space? Oh, I just did.
It’s needless to say that our other branded vacuum has now been relegated to our teenagers’ floor of the house. Good luck is all we’ll say. There’s more clothing and crockery than carpet visible.
And now I’m procrastinating, so let’s go back to why the Mova P50 Ultra Robot Vacuum is the cleaner for you. Because it just is. If we love it, we’re pretty sure you will, too.
